Church Vision Statement

Park United Reformed Church has a vision for the spiritual growth of the worshipping church and fellowship:

  • we aim to develop a rich variety of worship styles, in order to meet the needs of all ages
  • we aim to increase the prayer life of the fellowship
  • we aim to increase participation in the planning and leading of worship
  • we aim to nurture and disciple people in response to God’s calling
  • we aim to deepen our Biblical understanding, teaching and preaching
  • we aim to develop our Bible study and house groups 

Park United Reformed Church has a vision for outreach and mission into the community:

  • we aim to equip all our members in their witness through their daily activities e.g. at work, at home, in the community
  • we aim to develop our role as a centre of Christian activity for all ages
  • we aim to develop the gifts of members in the leading of worship
  • we aim to reach out to the local community through our youth and children’s work
  • we aim to assist people in exploring Christianity through courses e.g. Alpha
  • we commit to supporting RE Inspired (the ecumenical schools work project)
  • we commit to working collaboratively with other churches
  • we actively seek to worship with other Christian fellowships

Park United Reformed Church has a vision of a world in which people are treated with dignity and respect, a world which gives due regard to all of creation:

  • we aim to develop links with churches across the world, e.g. through our links to the United Church of Zambia, the Eglise Réformée de France and local links with churches in Germany
  • we aim to support and promote the campaign for trade justice
  • we aim to be a Fairtrade church that actively supports the principles of Fairtrade
  • we aim to learn from the world church and to share our experiences with others
  • we aim to promote an awareness of environmental issues and to operate with sensitivity to environmental concerns
  • we aim to raise awareness of justice and human rights
  • we aim to raise awareness and to support the persecuted church

Park United Reformed Church has a vision for the continued and developing use of the premises for church and community activity:

  • we aim to promote the life of the church to all community users through a flexible and open policy regarding access and usage of the church and halls
  • we aim to the develop a coffee shop with Traidcraft area
  • we aim to increase usage by community groups etc.
  • we aim to improve access for people with disabilities
  • we aim to create an improved reception area, to assist in premises usage
  • we aim to develop our kitchen facilities to increase our catering provision
