Christian Aid

Christian Aid is one of the largest charities that we support at Park United Reformed Church. As well as organising collections for Christian Aid’s work, we pray for the work and we campaign throughout the year. Park United Reformed Church supported the Christian Aid Christmas appeal in 2014 & 2016. During Christian Aid week in May 2015 we had a visiting preacher, Andrew Weston, an intern working with the Christian Aid Collective at the London Office of Christian Aid.

Christian Aid is a Christian organisation that insists the world can and must be swiftly changed to one where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty.

Christian Aid works globally for profound change that eradicates the causes of poverty, striving to achieve equality, dignity and freedom for all, regardless of faith or nationality. We are part of a wider movement for social justice.

Christian Aid provides urgent, practical and effective assistance where need is great, tackling the effects of poverty as well as its root causes.

Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of dignity, freedom and hope, of power over their own lives. Christian Aid has a vision – an end to poverty – and we believe that vision can become a reality.

Christian Aid has an excellent website at www.christianaid.org.uk

Together we can make a difference and seek an end to poverty.
